We have a personalised welcome and transition process for new residents at Bowbrook.

All are welcomed by the home manager and senior team, before they are introduced to the wider caring team and Bowbrook community.

Residents are encouraged to bring in personal belongings before the move to create a familiar environment and we create personal biographies for each individual in advance, to assist staff in engaging with our residents meaningfully from day one.

We also provide support for the families of new residents as we know it is a big emotional step when a family member moves into our care.

We have an open door policy for visitors, so they can visit when they wish. We also have regular updates and meetings and newsletters about what is going on in the home.

Families and friends are invited to events in the home, such as dementia education workshops, seasonal celebrations such as Veterans Day and Valentine’s Day and outings to stay connected with their loved one.

The goal is to ensure that Bowbrook feels like an extension of home, where families are as much a part of the community as the residents themselves.

At Bowbrook, we want every resident to live life as they wish to.

We follow a philosophy of person-centered engagement, ensuring that every resident has the opportunity to participate in activities they enjoy.  Our activities are tailored to residents’ abilities and areas of interest, and they are designed to stimulate the mind and encourage socialisation.

Similarly, if residents prefer quieter time in their rooms, or one-on-one with one of our caring team, we are happy to facilitate that.

The food at Bowbrook is delicious, varied and nutritious.

Meals are freshly prepared on-site each day within the six households, ensuring residents have a choice of food options and can enjoy their favourite dishes. We accommodate all dietary requirements and food intolerances.

Our catering team takes time to learn each resident’s favourite meals, dietary needs, and cultural preferences. This ensures that food is not just nutritious but also familiar and enjoyable.

We can provide specially adapted meals for those who require a modified diet or who have allergies.  Drinks and snacks are always accessible throughout the day and relatives and friends are welcome to come and share a meal with us too.

Meals are served in communal dining areas to encourage social interaction, though residents can opt to dine in their rooms if preferred.   Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day.
